Hare Krishna,

Please accept our humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
Happy Gaura Purnima!

Recent media attention on the Coronavirus (COVID-19), including new cases in surrounding regions, has led ISKCON Philadelphia temple management to evaluate our current health and safety protocols. The CDC currently indicates the risk is low, and we can safely host our Gaura Purnima celebration this evening as planned, as well as other regular services.
Nevertheless, the situation is fluid and could change at any time.

We want to assure everyone that we take the wellbeing of our membership seriously, and consequently we have modified our existing health and safety protocols to comply with recommended COVID-19 best practices.

Our current food safety protocols already follow a strict industry standard that includes hand washing for anyone who prepares or serves food and gloves for servers. As always, if you are scheduled to serve in the kitchen, but are sick, we ask that you not serve prasadam and stay out of the kitchen. Members can help us by making sure you wash your hands before and after prasadam meals.

Bathrooms will remain stocked with soap and hand dryers, and we have added a hand sanitizer station in the lobby for your convenience.

In addition to our routine cleaning procedures, we are paying special attention throughout the day to temple surfaces like handrails and doorknobs.

We have also suspended the practice of passing around prasadam flowers. The maha flowers will be offered to Srila Prabhupada and not attendees in the temple room.

While at the temple, follow cold and flu season protocols to minimize the spread of potential viruses, including basic hygiene (frequent hand washing and use of an alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are unavailable), proper respiratory etiquette (covering mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing), and staying home if you are ill.

If you have questions about our procedures, please contact Dronacarya Das prabhu. We will continue to provide updates as needed.
