Snana Yatra

On July 14th, is  “Snana Yatra”, the grand bathing ceremony of Lord Jagannatha.  It is a once-in-a-year opportunity for everyone to bathe the Lord for His pleasure. The bathing ceremony will begin at 5:00 p.m and will end promptly at 5:50 p.m. , so please come on time!  Just to make sure you don’t miss your chance, we recommend you arrive in time to participate in the 4:30 p.m. arati.

After being bathed, Lord Jagannatha will  return to the altar and be dressed in His unique outfit called “Hathi Vesha” or Elephant dress. Please be on time for the celebration and be freshly bathed yourself. Wear clean clothing. This is recommended because you will be bathing the Lord.
